Asian Fencing Confederation

 

 

In 1972, the Asian Fencing Confederation was formed during the Olympic Games in Munich. Its first president became Colonel Almassi.

The first Asian Fencing Championships were held in 1973.

Fencing entered into the Asian Games program in 1974.

However, a few years later this organization ceased to exist. The Asian Fencing Confederation revival took place in 1988 during the Olympic Games in Seoul. Mr. TU MINGDE (China) was elected as a President of the Asian Fencing Confederation at that moment.

In 1997-2004, the President of the Asian Fencing Confederation - Chang Young Soo (South Korea).

Since 2005, President of the Asian Fencing Confederation -  Celso L. Dayrit (Philippines).

Asian Fencing Championships has been held since 1998.

Since 1992 - Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships.
