National team of Uzbekistan– at the podium

In the Republican children and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve on gymnastics were held the competitions of the World Cup on sabre among female-juniors on 17-18 November. The sportsmen and representatives of 34 countries participated at this international tournament, held in Uzbekistan for the first time.

The solemn sounds of kaynay and surnays informed about the beginning of this big holiday of fencing on 17 November. Bandshell foremen of Uzbekistan greeted the participants of the big fencing holiday with their catching songs and dances. Then the girls with the flags of participating countries of the World Cup among female-juniors on sabre entered the fencing saloon.

The Minister of the physical culture and sport of the Republic of Uzbekistan D. Nabiyev, President of the Olympic committee of Uzbekistan U. Akhmadjanov, Khakim of Tashkent city Dj. Artikhodjayev, chairman of the Fencing federation of Uzbekistan R. Shaabdurakhmonov spoke at the grand opening of the international tournament of the World Cup. They  pointed out that out government is giving great attention to the development of sport, including fencing. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan indicates the necessity of familiarizing the broad cross-section of the population to the sports and assertion of a healthy lifestyle in the society, upbringing of a physically healthy rising generation, provision of an honorable representation of the country in the field of sports, high achievements at the international sports arena.

Assignment for conduction of two prestigious international competitions – international tournament “Satellite” among men on sword and World Cup on sabre among female-juniors at once, in our country is the vivid evidence of recognition of the Fencing federation of a great attention of the management of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the development of physical culture and sport, including the Olympic kind of sport– fencing.

On 17 November– the first day of the World Cup competition on sabre among female-juniors in the individual championship participated the following sportswomen:

It is necessary to point out that the strongest sabre fencers of the world came to the World Cup competitions on sabre among female-juniors. So, Alina Mikhaylova from Russia is the champion of Europe of 2018, world champion of 2018 in the team competitions and is on the second place in he rating of the International federation of fencing. One more sabre fencer from Russia Anna Kudrayeva was the world champion among cadets in 2017 and is the champion of Russia of 2018, and Valeria Kobzeva is the European champion of the year 2018, world champion of 2018 in team competition. Liza Gette is on the fifth place in the rating of the International fencing federation, and the vice-president of Europe among the cadets, winner of the World Cup in Sochi in 2018 Ioanna Ivliyeva from Bulgaria– seventh, Julika Funke from Germany– ninth. Without any exaggeration, they are the leaders of the world fencing among female-juniors on sabre at the present.

World Cup Refereeing condensation on sabre among female-juniors was assigned to the experienced– referees of the international category Marcus Shultz (Germany),Andrey Alshan and Nail Nasimov (Russia), Abdusamat Arslan (Turkey), Roman Bereuter (Austria), Rares Dimetresk (Rumania), Mikhail Pagkhiyev (Moldova), Eugeniy Dyakokin (Kazakhstan), Orik Beriyev (Uzbekistan).

Fencing federation of Uzbekistan has given a serious attention to the cleanness in the sport in the competitions. All the members of the national team of the country for the first time passed two international doping controls before the competitions. 

         Individual championship of the World Cup on sabre among female-juniors started from 1/64  of the finals.

       Six members of the national team who bit their opponents – Ch. Togaymuradova, Sh. Tagaymuradova, A. Usnatdinova, Z. Dayibekova, G. Esemuratova and S. Ismailova from Uzbek sabre fencers passed to the next stage 1/32 of the competitions. However, at this stage only S. Ismailova could win Hoong Zi Khan from Vietnam scoring 15:11. But further and Sevich Ismailova also had to cover her sabre. She got the tenth place in the individual championship in the World Cup.

Three representatives of Russia passed to the semi-finals – Alina Mikhaylova, Valeria Kobzeva, Alla Kudrayeva ad Iona Iliyeva from Bulgaria. Two worthy rivals – Ioan Iliyeva and Valeriya Kobzeva met in the finals of individual championship of the World Cup, beating their opponents on semi-finals. In the persistent duel Iona Iliyeva beat Valeria Kobzeva scoring 15:11. She became the champion of the World Cuo on sabre among female-juniors, Velaria Kobzeva got the second place, Alina Mikhaylova and Alla Kusraeva went up the third step of the podium.

Twofold world champion of the Olympic games Chabo Bensi, General secretary of the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Dj. Matchanov and the chairman of the Fencing federation of Uzbekistan presented the awards to the winners.

The hymn of Bulgaria sounded in the honor of the winner of the World Cup on sabre among female-juniors.

Team competitions of the World Cup on sabre among female-juniors were held on 18 November. Seven teams: Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Israel and Uzbekistan took part in these competitions.

In one quarter of the finals, the German national team easily overcame the Israelis with a score of 45: 6, the Bulgarian national team – the national team of Kazakhstan with a score of 45:25. The rival was resistant between the opponents of the national teams of Moldova and Uzbekistan with a score of 45:36. The Russian national team got right into the semi-final. 45:39 At this stage, they defeated the Bulgarian sportswomen with a score 45:39.

Uzbek sabre fencers bravely competed with German opponents in the semi-finals and unexpectedly for many managed to beat them with a score of 45:37. After all, the young German sabre fencers are o the fourth place in the ranking of the International Fencing Federation

National teams of Russia and Uzbekistan met at the finals of the World Cup . Our junior girls contested on equal terms with their peers, and only at the end of the battles did the experience and skill of the Russian sabre fencers bring them victory with a score of 45:38

So, for the first time in the history of fencing of Uzbekistan, the national team of junior girls on the sabre has risen to the second step of the podium of the World Cup. This big victory of our team provided the female sabre fencers Sevinch Ismailova, Zainab Dayibekova, Charoshon Togaymuradova and Aisuluv Usamitdinova. They were warmly greeted by numerous fans of fencing at the podium of the Republican youth athletic center of Olympic reserve on gymnastics.

 

As a result of this success the national team of Uzbekistan has risen up to eight steps higher at the rating of the International fencing federation and now they are at the 12th place. In the Asian rating it is now on the third place.

The third place at the World Cup go the national team of Germany, winning their opponents from Bulgaria with a score 45:32. The fifth place in the team competitions went to the female sabre fencers of Moldova, who beat their Kazakh sportswomen (45:37).

The awards for the winners of team competitions of the World Cup were presented by the General Secretary of the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan J. Matchanov, First Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports O. Kasymov and Chairman of the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan R. Shaabdurahmanov

Most of the managers of the national fencing federation particularly emphasized the hospitality of the hosts of the international competitions, preciseness of the organization of competitions. So, as has been noted by the President of the fencing federation of Malaysia Rusni Anu Hassan, the organization of the competition of the international tournament “Satellite” among men on sword and the World Cup among junior girls on sabre was so excellent and complied to the international standards, that allows Uzbekistan to conduct the world championships on fencing with dignity.
