The Open Cup of the Republic of Uzbekistan on fencing among cadets will be held in Tashkent in the fencing saloon of the stadium “Pakhtakor” on 19-24 October. These competitions will be held in individual and team championship.

Preparation and running of the competitions is performed under the general management of the Ministry of physical training and sport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the direct supervision is entrusted to the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan and the chief panel of judges.

It should be noted that, in order to implement the wide-scale works, aimed at formation of a healthy lifestyle, creation of corresponding up to date conditions for the population, especially for the young generation for regular exercises and grassroots sport, Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan is conducting an active work on propagation of a healthy lifestyle among young people through comprehensive organization of work on selection of talented sportsmen among the youngsters.

Subject to the provisions about the Open Cup of the Republic of Uzbekistan among cadets, the competitions are held with the aim of:

- propagation of a healthy lifestyle;

- popularization and propagation of fencing and contribution to mass development;

- health promotion of a rising generation, attraction of children and teenagers to the systematic attending of physical training and sports;

- preparation of the reserve for the national team of Uzbekistan;

- rise of the sportsmanship level of the fencers of Uzbekistan.

- revelation of the strongest fencers for participation in the international competitions;

- development and strengthening of friendly and sports relations.

- improvement of the expertise, revelation of the strongest sportsmen of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

National teams of the regions, of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent city and the sportsmen from Kazakhstan take part in the competitions.

Sportsmen born in 2002 and younger are allowed to participate at the competitions. 

The competitions are held under the current international rules of FIE.  The preliminary tournament is held on 5 hits. The tournament for direct knock out is held on 15 hits. The toss in team championships is done according to the results of individual competitions.

 

So, the competition program is as follows:

 

18 December – date of arrival, placement.

19 December – sword (men), sword (women)- individual

20 December -  sword (men), sword (women)- team

21 December – rapier (men), rapier (women)- individual

22 December – rapier (men), rapier (women)- team

23 December – sabre (men), sabre (women) - individual

24 December – sabre (men), sabre (women)- team

 

Sportsmen- participants, who won I, II and III places (in individual championships), are awarded with a valuable prize, medals and diplomas of corresponding levels. In the team competitions the winners and the prize-winners are awarded with medals and diplomas of corresponding levels. The awarding is held upon the completion of the program type.
